Romans 10:14-15
*The S.O.A.P. guide shifts in the weeks before Easter to focus our attention on evangelism.
Daily S.O.A.P. Prompts
S – What verse stands out to me today?
O – What is God revealing about Jesus?
A – How should this change my life today?
P – What is my prayer in response?
Scripture
(Romans 10:14-15, LEB) 14 How then will they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in him about whom they have not heard? And how will they hearabout him without one who preaches to them? 15 And how will they preach, unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How timely are the feet of those who bring good news of good things.”
Observation
• Right before we read verse 14, Paul writes in verse 13, “For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”
• I notice a series of questions. These four questions are inviting us to consider that wonderful adventure of sharing the good news with people.
• In order for people to call on Jesus, they have to hear and accept (believe). In order for them to do all of this, someone has to be sent to them and preach the gospel.
• Paul quotes from Isaiah 52:7 while communicating the importance of spreading the gospel.
• The feet of the people going and preaching are beautiful.
Application
• From God’s perspective, my feet are “beautiful” when I spread the gospel. My feet aren’t “beautiful” if I don’t. I want “beautiful” feet.
Prayer
Dear God, you desire to save! If we call on your name, you will save. I know you have put me on this earth at this time to help finish the task you gave the church. I participate in spreading the gospel. I desire more opportunity. As Easter approaches, please, give me more opportunity to spread the gospel. In Jesus’ name! Amen!
