Responsibility to Respond

Daily S.O.A.P. Prompts

S – What verse stands out to me today?

O – What is God revealing about Jesus?

A – How should this change my life today?

P – What is my prayer in response?

Scripture

(John 15:22-25, NLT) 22 They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Anyone who hates me also hates my Father. 24 If I hadn’t done such miraculous signs among them that no one else could do, they would not be guilty. But as it is, they have seen everything I did, yet they still hate me and my Father. 25 This fulfills what is written in their Scriptures: ‘They hated me without cause.’

Observation

  • The terms "guilty" and "sin" are used in these verses.

  • The people who reject Jesus are guilty because they have seen the signs and still rejected Jesus. They have seen everything and still hated Jesus.

  • Jesus says that they have no excuse for their sin.

  • Their hate for Jesus has no justification.

Application

  • Miracles are signs (or signposts) that point to God.

  • We have no excuse.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for coming to earth and interacting with your creation. You have spoken to us and done miracles among us to help us believe. Thank you for creating a path to life in You. I believe. I believe you are who you say you are. The world has no excuse. Help me share the good news with them so that all may believe in You. In Jesus' name, amen!
