Scripture

John 2:23-25 (LEB) 23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name because they saw his signs which he was doing. 24 But Jesus himself did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people25 and because he did not ⌊need⌋ anyone ⌊to testify⌋ about man, for he himself knew what was in man.

Observation

• During the Passover festival Jesus did “signs” and we are told that people believed as a results. The word, “believe” is mentioned again.

• Seeing is believing.

• They trusted in Him, but He didn’t trust in them.

• Jesus knew what was in man. Other translations say, “Jesus knew what was in each person’s heart.”

Application

• Jesus is trustworthy, but we aren’t always trustworthy. Can I be trusted with the things of God?

• Do I have to see to believe?

Prayer

Dear Lord, you are always trustworthy. Even when others fail me, You never will. I stand on this truth today. Help me to be someone You can trust. May I live in continual obedience to your Word. I believe you are the Christ, the Son of God. I choose to believe, even if I don’t see. You are always faithful. In Jesus name! Amen!
